Who We Are
Since 1995 Paul Johnson, Tami Mulick and their children Alice and Rick have been welcoming guests to Gull Cove. Gull Cove is home to them, they open their doors to you during your stay there.
Rick is the Capitan on the Yakobi. He runs the Yakobi with ease, assists in fishing training, as well as processing the fish. He is the expert in all things fish. Rick will be your main guide for going out for daily activities including bear viewing, whale watching, nature hikes, and the run up Glacier Bay.
Alice is the lodge manager as well as pre/post-departure assistant for your arrival. She works with you before you arrive to ensure your adventure is going to be what you’re looking for, as well as making sure your return to home goes as smooth as possible. She is the head chef at Alice’s Restaurant and serves home cooked meals everyday.
Tami is the apart of the land operation, she maintains the garden and helps prepare the gourmet food in the kitchen.
Paul has been guiding trips throughout the Glacier Bay region and the waters around Chichagof and Yakobi Islands since 1974 and is well known for his knowledge of the area. Paul makes every effort to make sure his guests enjoy the total experience of exploring these waters. The history, wildlife, and culture are brought to life with Paul's stories. Tami's love for Alaska brought her here to meet Paul where they together, built the lodge. The very literal foundation of Gull Cove was poured by Tami and Paul all the while starting a family and managing a business.
