The Puffin, Martin and Halibut
The lodge has three oceanfront cabins each named after different Alaskan animals. All three cabins are connected by a boardwalk that also connects to the main lodge "Whale House" and the dock. Halibut, Martin, and Puffin - are perched on stilts at the edge of the Cove. Lots of glass on the sea side permits unobstructed views across Icy Strait. It is not unusual to see bald eagles, sea otters, harbor seals, and humpback whales out your window. Typically there are two guests per cabin, but each can accommodate an extra person.
Amenities
Each cabin has a hot water shower, toilet and sink. Each cabin also has electricity, in-floor heating, and a front porch with a full view of the Fairweather mountain range.
The Puffin
The Puffin is the closest cabin to the lodge and to the dock. This cabin has a queen bed along with a single bed. It is able to house three guests however it is perfect for the honeymoon room.
The Martin and Halibut
These cabins are second and third away from the main lodge. These cabins have two single beds and a fold out futon couch.
Meals
Our days start in the lodge with sourdough pancakes, egg dishes, oatmeal, or other hearty breakfasts while lunches are usually eaten on the Yakobi or perhaps on a beach or riverbank. Dinners feature fresh seafood - salmon, halibut, shrimp and crabs - prepared using some of our favorite traditional recipes. Home made desserts top off the meal and the day.
